In the last few weeks as we've been unpacking and repacking all of our stuff that's been in storage for the last 3 years, I realize it's going to take a lot of organization to keep our new Philly apartment looking good. Our place isn't as tiny as our Hong Kong apartment but it's an old building so it doesn't have all the modern conveniences of a laundry room or central A/C. We've had to re-plumb to install a washer and dryer in the kitchen and we are replacing the old kitchen linoleum too. I'll share the floor plan next week so you can see what I'm working with but it's going to take some work.
You can see why I loved this East Village apartment designed by David Kaihoi for his family. Bright colors, bold patterns, and super functional.
Can you believe his little girl sleeps on a trundle under their bed? Amazing.
The closets are beautiful, love the panels.
The black built-ins are gorgeous.
Storage cabinets in the bathroom are covered with silhouette paper to create a modern pattern.
There's a perfect spot for everything.
A bit of a namedropper...but it makes for a pretty tray right?
The floor is painted with one of my favorite colors Hale Navy by BM.
Bold kitchen with great lighting.
Love the touch of zebra with the purple, so sophisticated.
Clever banquette storage.
