I love a good Turkish kilim rug and searched all over (Dubai, Oman, Lebanon,Hong Kong) for a good color scheme sans RED. Don't get me wrong, red is beautiful...but I don't decorate my own house with red so I decided that I wouldn't invest in an expensive rug until I found the perfect one. I found a few in Hong Kong before I left but didn't pull the trigger because the size wasn't right. Although I've already bought most of the rugs for my house here, I was super excited when I saw this fabulous navy Kilim by West Elm. Simple, versatile, and very chic. (oh and how about that price???)
I agree Caitlin, not only is the price GREAT, but the Mulberry colors are FANTASTIC!! I posted this find a while back, so I share in your enthusiasm... only issue for me is that I live in Florida, and have a white, long haired cat, so I would be vacuuming all the time......
ReplyDeleteQuestion for you: I recently watched the movie The Dilema and loved the rug in the couple's apartment... Any ideas of how to find the source??
ReplyDeleteAnd why do you not decorate with red? Just wondering....
ReplyDeleteoh, how i love me some west elm! that would look fantastic in my gameroom!

What a beautiful rug! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYes, this one grabbed me when I saw it on their website. Can't wait to see how you will incorporate it. I have a question though...some of these 100% wool rugs are rougher underfoot, like a scratchy wool sweater. What's your take on where you would/wouldn't put a scratchy rug? (To me it's a little less pleasant texture than a jute rug....) You're such a textile queen, I'm betting you have opinions on the touch/feel, no?
