Designer Crush: Naomi @ Design Manifest

I'm so excited to introduce you to my new friend, Naomi from Design Manifest! Naomi is a Philadelphia designer who reached out to me right when I moved into town and has been so nice to take me around and show me the ropes.  The first fun adventure we went on was to a movie set sale for the M. Night Shyamalan movie {The Last Airbender- it was a flop} but the set props were quite fascinating!   Naomi even bought a few accessories for some projects that worked out beautifully (see the birdcage below)!

And I was tempted by these awesome benches...

Naomi such a sweetheart and I'm so grateful to have a design friend close by! I really love getting to know other designers through blogging- learning about their tricks and design aesthetic...so I've asked her to answer 5 questions for us:

1.  What is your design style?

My design style is Modern Bohemian Chic.  I like tailored timeless pieces mixed with sparkle, organic elements and something unexpected- whether it be chinoiserie, ikat, rustic or a boat load of good color.

2.  What's your favorite paint color?

On walls I tend to go neutral.  I like Benjamin's Moore Ballet White and Martha Stewart's Glass of Milk.  For furniture and accents I like to go bold.  My desk is painted in Glidden's Very Berry and I love it.

3.  Dream furniture piece (if you could buy anything!)?

Oooo toughie.  A Barcelona daybed.  Some kind of daybed.  Either an ornate carved louis-style or the Barcelona.  I can't decide.  My taste swings from modern to ornate-traditional daily :)  I'd also love to own a table by Hudson Furniture and a chandelier by Ochre.  But I guess I'm cheating now.

4.  Best online source?

Blogs!  Etsy and Ebay are big for me.  I usually start of 1st Dibs for inspiration than move over to Ebay/Craigslist to find more reasonably priced look-a-likes.  For retail I like Layla Grace, Clayton Gray and Wisteria.

5.  Fun project you're working on now?

I have two projects that I'm obsessed with right now.  A neutral, layered family room and a colorful, modern meets french living room.  (I included a sneak peak of the neutral family room.  It is NOT done or styled, but its gives you a taste.)  I'm also obsessed with finishing my own loft, so lets say I have three awesome projects.

Aren't her spaces just fabulous?  I love the color combinations!

{ Let me know if you're a fan of this new series... I'd love to share more of my designer crushes! }
