bed...room {the rest of the picture}

Our bedroom is the room that I have spent the least amount of time on. I started with the geometric sheers from IKEA (had them made into pinched pleat curtains for fullness) and added the charcoal curtain. By the way, this is a fantastic sheer (and you can't beat the price)! I love the pattern and the way it diffuses the light. And it's especially dramatic when you have it in a floor to ceiling panel like mine.

I thought I would go for the misty blue route to keep it calm and simple {not really me} and not long after I had the pillows made, I fell in love with these hand-painted, Asian silk prints at Global Village. I knew that they would be the perfect scale for our bedroom & add that touch of glamour that I just can't live without. So I have some plans in the works for a slight change in here. Don't get me wrong, I love my Hot house flowers...but I'm thinking of a summer palette switch-out. After all, it's already summer in Dubai! Don't worry, I'll let you see the whole transformation!

Lamps from The White Company, London- one of my favorite stores.

IKEA frames (where else do I buy my frames?)

This set of three for the huge price of 28 bucks! Another steal in China.

Duvet & quilt from IKEA also.

Summer switch-out coming soon!

  1. I am loving this new blog of inspiration. I put a link on my blog as well. Are you open to answering design questions without doing a board? I am having fireplace/mantel/tile difficulties. Let me know. Thanks.

  5. I have been looking for curtains like these everywhere!! I even went on the Ikea website 5 times and somehow totally missed these- thank you so much for pointing them out to me! I'm making my boyfriend take me this weekend to get a pair for my bedroom which I am in the middle of redecorating.

  7. I just wanted to say thank you again for introducing me to these amazing Ikea curtains. I made a trip out to Ikea this weekend and picked up a pair. They were the missing piece to my bedroom that I had been looking everywhere for.

    Everything is coming along better then I expected because of this find, thank you so much again!!

    Now to pick out my main curtains to layer with these...that could be another challenge :)

  8. You're so good at keeping great style on a budget! When we eventually move flats in London I'm going to see if you're available for a consultation or something. Now if only I had the will power to shop with 2 little boys...
