Global Village is back!

Some of you may remember Global Village from last year~ it's one of my favorite things about Dubai. It's a yearly cultural market where you visit pavilions from different countries and shop for their local goods. We took our first trip of the season last night and since it was Eid al-adha, one of the biggest Muslim holidays, it was absolutely insane. It was so crowded that we only made it to two countries, Syria and India. But it's never hard for me to find a bit of inspiration. I fell more in love with the Syrian furniture~ it's inlaid with mother of pearl and camel bone...the detail is exquisite. I could do a whole post about mixing these pieces- they look amazing in traditional settings, modern settings, ethnic settings...they are so chic!

And I couldn't help but photograph the slippers in India.

Wouldn't this chair be so fabulous with a reupholstered cushion?

I love how they are hung on the wall.

I would DIE to have one of those mirrors- gorgeous.

More slippers.

The perfect little side table. I'm actually using some of these in a current project. Love them.

I told you I couldn't get enough of the shoes!

Another gorgeous inlaid chair...more comfortable than it looks too!
More from global village coming soon~ I have a hard time not making a weekly trip!
