Something that I loved about living in Dubai was the proximity to India. Although I haven't made it yet (I'm still kind of close), I was able to find some beautiful Indian products, including some block printed fabrics. I even had a client who's guest room we decorated with block printed fabrics that her aunt made! Of all the places in India, I really want to go to Rajasthan and have fabrics made. So you'll see why I died over this video that West Elm made of the block printing process. Watch it- it's INCREDIBLE!
{And the best part is that you actually don't have to go to India, you can buy them here!}
Love it so interesting! I would love to make a fabric how fun!
ReplyDeleteI love their block prints! I was actually just looking at them the other day & wondering if the essex sofa upholstered in the paisley would work in my house. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you're getting settled okay in Hong Kong!!!
Have you ever been to "Lala" in Laguna, the designer is Kerry Cassill- she is amazing, this looks like a lot of her stuff although she is a little more bohemian bc its at the beach.
ReplyDeleteI love west elm, and love this whole line! I actually just bought the duvet cover for the guest bed in the nursery for our little Finn! I love how fresh it is.

ReplyDeleteI love West Elm right now - there are doing so many great ethnicy things, which I always fall for! I blogged recently about a similar product that you may want to check out if you don't already know it: http://bjdhausdesign.blogspot.com/2011/02/les-indiennes.html. I would love to go there, and make my own fabric - how cool would that be??!!!
