new (to me) at IKEA

I've been avoiding IKEA for the good part of a year now, ever since my overdose from setting up our home in Dubai on a low budget.  But now that I am getting organized here in Hong Kong, I decided I needed some essentials and I must say that was impressed with some of the new-ish products I saw.  I only bought a few things but if I had a place for the rest of these items, they would have been in my cart in an instant! More good design from the savvy Swedes...

this fabric would make yummy pillows (they remind me of some by thomas paul)

we've been eating on these placemats every night, love the pattern!

lovely little pendant

these planter markers are darling...and i'm sure there's a million ways to use these for party decor!

this punchy duvet would be so pretty folded at the end of a bed (so you can see all the colors and hide the clouds!)

these pillows are very refined looking
i'm always a fan of a tray table (especially when it's $34.99!)

this new color bedspread (i had it in white previously, but i love the grey blue)

a perfect springtime bench (and you could spray paint it too!)

fab pillow

so if you're like me and you haven't been for awhile...grab some DAIM chocolate (my fav, toffee/chocolate bites) on your way in and check out the new stuff!

  5. We went back in January, and loved it. (Aside from the slightly overwhelming layout.)

That bench is cute, and love the place mats! It is hard when you get there not to be tempted to buy a bunch of stuff you didn't need because it is so incredibly inexpensive!

  7. I have those last pillows on my bed -- you have to be choosy, but you can find some gems at Ikea!

  8. Caitlin,I went to Ikea for many of the items I am using in the playroom re-do. i fell in love with many of the pillow covers and a drapery panel in a linen with great hatched navy circles. Love Ikea. I think I couls spend all day browsing re-purposing items,I love to play that game. Hmmm? what else could I use this for? Kind of like the plant stakes you suggested for parties!! Yay Ikea. If you have a chance check out the fabrics I am using for the playroom on my blog post!!! One look for the boys and another for my little gal. So fun KS

  11. I was just there last week. I bought the yellow fabric you showed but in a beautiful blue/gray to make into a table cloth. I love its graphic dimension and should be great with my white dishes! And those placemats look perfect for where you are living - how fun.
