The reason why it took me 2 years to hang my fashion prints is because framing is so expensive. I looked all over for gold metal frames and in the end I finally decided just to have them custom made since the prints are so special- I wanted them to be perfect. They were mounted on black foam core and then placed on top of a blush matte. This was the best solution since they are originals from magazines and thus vary in size. For me, it was worth the money to have a professional do it. However, in the process I did find these reasonably priced gold metal frames that I am going to use for other projects. The finish is shinier than mine and they do not ship with glass, but they're great for the price and have tons of sizes!
Now, for the prints...that's the tricky part. Mine are originals and cost between 20-50 Euro per piece...which was a steal! Even just Vogue photograph cover prints from the CondeNast store are several hundred for a copy! My suggestion is to find a fashion print book and take it apart. I bought this one recently and love it- they would be smaller frames but still very chic!

Or it would definitely be fun to fly to France to find some originals:)
Finding the perfect frames can be very difficult! I searched high and low for the perfect gold frame but could not find one. I ended up spray painting an Ikea frame, and I was pleased with how it turned out. Great suggestions here!
ReplyDeleteI have been on the hunt too. And I love the idea of re-purposing the book. xo
ReplyDeleteGreat resources. I must say though, I do love the matte gold with the blush mattes. It's so chic.
