I started collecting these French postcards on my first trip to the South of France in 2004, so when I went to back to Nice this summer, I {naturally} picked up a few. They cost 1 euro a piece and make darling framed art. I popped them in some ikea frames and voila...$6 art! They make me smile, even when I'm not in France :)
I've done this with vintage postcards I got on ebay- they have SO many choices it was hard to pick just a few.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your French ones, very beautiful!
Love them! We were in Dublin last year and picked up some postcards as well that we plan on turning into artwork for around the home!
ReplyDeleteThey aren't quite as beautiful as yours though :)
love this idea. Cheap, cool and meaningful!:)
ReplyDeleteSO cute. You think of everything!
ReplyDeleteThey are so colorful. I like to frame pretty greeting cards that I buy at the art museum gift shop too. They make inexpensive art that you can shift around the house when you want a new look.
ReplyDeletethey look great! you have got my mind brewing for my own walls
ReplyDeleteThat is a brilliant idea! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Whishing for pretty postcards where I am going on vacation....
ReplyDeleteNorthern Light
What a great idea. I love the impact they have on your room!
ReplyDeletethey look darling! I bought some similar from Corfu too :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE.
ReplyDeleteI love postcards - I've done the same with some vintage seaside ones from Martha's Vineyard :)
ReplyDeletecute, I love the pop of color. I actually have a REAL vintage postcard of Nice (that I got in Venice, lol) that I love so much, but I do love the color in yours.
ReplyDeletecute idea. I have bought cards and never actually done anything cute with them.
ReplyDeleteI studied abroad at a small school in Cannes and bought that very same post card in 1996 along with two others. They were framed and hanging in various apartments for years. I only just passed the set on to someone else a few weeks ago...and now I want them back! :)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect reminder of your time in France :)
ReplyDeleteI love postcards! I have a bunch of old ones I picked up at a flea market in Madrid and I will definitely have to make a trip to Ikea :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always amazing to me how you can take something so simple and make a beautiful decorating touch out of it. What a great way to keep the French influence in your home.
ReplyDeleteI've been collecting postcards since I was a child. This is a great idea for some the vintage one's I've picked up along the way!
