3 things I love about my apartment

We've been working like dogs for the past week to get all of our stuff unpacked and semi-orgnanized in our new Philly apartment. It's been really fun to re-open stuff that has been in storage for the last 3 years, including all my nice kitchen dishes & appliances we were given for our wedding. It's also a little frustrating because we don't have much in the way of furniture since we only moved a few pieces back from Dubai but I'm slowly filling it up with budget friendly items I've found on Craigslist and Ebay...more on that later.  But I really love our apartment- it's old and charming and actually quite spacious (which we're definitely not used to after Dubai and Hong Kong).  A few of my favorite details:

I just love these old radiator covers in every room...I know they're all over the East Coast but I just think they're darling and you definitely don't find these in HK! They're also nice to put books and frames on.

Inlaid wood floors (my husband complains about how creaky they are but it's so worth it)!

Nooks & Crannies- there are cute little shelves and closets all throughout the house. My favorite is this one with the french door in the dining room where I store fancy dishes, my chinese tea set, and collection of cake stands.

I'll continue to post about the apartment progress more throughout the weeks to come, so stay tuned!

  7. There is nothing like moving in to a new place where you have the chance to put out just what you love and nothing more. It is the ultimate 'nesting'. I look forward to see more of your 'fun'. Love the cabinet with the glass doors and the floors are really great! xo

  10. I love these old nooks and especially the french doors for dishes! I had an old apartment that had that and I miss it tremendously. What area of the city is your new place in? (just curious because I used to live outside of the city in Ridley Park and it really reminds me exactly of all the details my old apartment had!)

  12. These all chairs are very stylish and really unique collection you shared here. It is very much helpful for my new home furnitures. Old stuffs are very best to remaining old days. It is best place to see in garage or stand-wall.

  15. I have those beautiful radiator covers too! (I live in DC). We also had grand dreams of making it a bookshelf, which we temporarily did. Unfortunately, when the building switched the heat on, all you could smell was burning paper.. yikes!!!
