I wanted to do something fun to find out the gender of our little babe on the way and since our ultrasound was a few days before Thanksgiving, we wanted to wait to find out with our family. So at the ultrasound I had the nurse write down the gender and put it in an envelope. Then I took it to my favorite Philly bakery Pamcakes (the most amazing red velvet cupcakes) and had them make up some special cupcakes with pink or blue filling... the bakery knew the secret for 30 hours before I found out!
I had the box at my house all afternoon before we opened it, so I was dying...I don't know how people wait for 9 months!
Finally out of the box!
Disclaimer: I was super tired after a long day of work and Thanksgiving prep:)
Can you see the filling??? BLUE!
Livi was thrilled...more at the cupcakes then the news of a baby brother!
It was such a fun way to share our surprise...we are so excited for our baby boy!
Thanks again to Pamcakes in Rittenhouse Square!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your little boy. Now you'll have the perfect pair. I've got 6 weeks to go of my pregnancy, I have not found out the gender, the suspense is killing me. I work as an ultrasonographer so I scan babies all day for my job.... It's taken a huge amount of willpower not to quickly use my machine in between scheduled patients and have a quick look! If it's a girl, I'm decorating her nursery with some of your fabric. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.
