The Lovers' Seat

I've had my eye on this fabulous yellow, Wormley tete-a-tete for some time now.  Tete-a-tete literally means "face to face" as they were obviously meant for conversation pieces. During their height in the 1700s, the tete-a-tete was known as the "lovers seat" because it allowed two people to sit together while avoiding the taboo of sitting too close.  Isn't it such a lovely piece of furniture?

Tete-a-tetes are hard to come by these days (not to mention super pricey).  I've noticed them in a few posh places...

I just love them- more than a bench, not quite a loveseat. I'd love to put one in between our living and dining room. So I'm keeping my eye out for a tete-a-tete on e-bay, in the mean time I'm going to save up for one of these from LEE.

What do you think?
